What's the difference between Classic, Hybrid and Volume lashes?
Classic lashes give you a natural, mascara-like finish. Hybrid lashes combine classic and volume techniques for added texture and fullness. Volume lashes create a fluffier, fuller look using lightweight lash fans. We'll choose a style that suits your natural lashes and the look you love.
What are UV LED lash extensions?
UV LED lash extensions use a specially formulated adhesive that's cured using a controlled LED light system. This allows the adhesive to cure quickly during application. They're still lash extensions, just with a different curing method!
How long do lash extensions last?
Your natural lashes shed as part of their normal growth cycle, so extensions gradually fall out with them. Most clients book infills every 2–3 weeks to keep their lashes looking full.
Can I get my lash extensions wet?
With traditional lash adhesives, follow the specific aftercare instructions given at your appointment. UV LED systems may have different water-exposure guidance, so I'll explain what's appropriate for the adhesive used.
Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes?
When they're correctly selected, applied and maintained, lash extensions shouldn't cause unnecessary damage. Picking, pulling or wearing extensions that are too heavy for your natural lashes can cause problems, so proper application and aftercare are important.
Can I wear makeup with lash extensions?
Absolutely! Just avoid oily products around the lash line and be gentle when removing eye makeup. Skip waterproof mascara and anything that requires heavy rubbing.
How do I clean my lash extensions?
Clean your lashes regularly using a lash-extension-safe cleanser and a soft cleansing brush. Rinse thoroughly, pat dry gently and brush them into place. Clean lashes are happy lashes! 💜
Can I choose how natural or dramatic my lashes look?
Of course! From subtle Classic lashes to textured Wispy sets and fuller Volume styles, we'll customise your lashes to suit your eyes, natural lashes and personal style.

What's the difference between a Korean lash lift and a traditional lash lift?
Both treatments enhance your natural lashes without extensions. Korean lash lifts use techniques and products designed to lift and shape the lashes with a focus on control and lash condition. The best approach depends on your natural lashes and the result you're after.
How long does a Korean lash lift last?
Most lash lifts last around 8-10 weeks, depending on your natural lash growth cycle and aftercare. As new lashes grow through, the lifted lashes gradually grow out.
Can I wear mascara after a lash lift?
Yes! Once your initial aftercare period has passed, you can wear mascara as normal. I'll explain the aftercare for the products used at your appointment.
What's the difference between a lash lift and lash extensions?
A lash lift curls and enhances the natural lashes you already have. Lash extensions add individual extensions to create extra length, fullness and different styles. If you love a low-maintenance look, a lash lift might be your new best friend!
What is brow lamination?
Brow lamination is a treatment that relaxes and redirects your natural brow hairs to create a smoother, fuller and more defined shape. It's great for taming unruly brows or achieving that fluffy, brushed-up look.
How long does brow lamination last?
Brow lamination generally lasts around 4–8 weeks, depending on your hair growth, hair type and aftercare.
What's the difference between brow tinting and hybrid brow stain?
Traditional brow tint mainly colours the brow hairs, while hybrid brow stain is designed to colour the hairs and leave a temporary stain on the skin. Hybrid stain can give a more defined, filled-in appearance, although results vary with skin type and aftercare.
Can I have my brows tinted after cosmetic tattooing?
Yes, once your cosmetic tattoo has fully healed and your tattoo artist has cleared you for tinting. Avoid tinting over freshly tattooed or healing skin.
How should I prepare for a waxing appointment?
For best results, allow enough hair growth for the wax to grip, gently exfoliate a day or two beforehand if your skin tolerates it, and arrive with clean skin. Let me know about medications, active skincare or recent skin treatments that could affect your skin.
Can I get waxed if I use retinol or prescription acne products?
Some skincare ingredients and medications can make your skin more fragile and increase the risk of lifting or irritation during waxing. Please tell me what you're using before your appointment so we can decide whether waxing is appropriate.

What is cosmetic tattooing?
Cosmetic tattooing, also known as permanent makeup (PMU), uses specialised techniques to implant pigment into the skin. At Shh Beauty Secrets, I offer eyebrow tattooing, lip blushing and eyeliner tattooing to enhance your natural features.
What's the difference between Powder Brows, Nano Brows and Combination Brows?
Powder Brows create a soft, shaded makeup effect. Nano Brows use fine, hair-like strokes for a more natural appearance. Combination Brows bring both techniques together for added definition and texture. We'll discuss which option suits your skin and desired look.
Does cosmetic tattooing hurt?
Everyone's pain tolerance is different! You may experience some discomfort, but I work carefully to keep you as comfortable as possible. We'll discuss what to expect during your consultation.
How long does cosmetic tattooing last?
Cosmetic tattooing gradually fades over time. Results can last around 1–3 years or longer depending on the treatment, skin type, lifestyle, pigment retention and sun exposure. Colour refresh appointments may be needed.
Will my cosmetic tattoo look dark at first?
Yes! Fresh cosmetic tattoos often appear darker or brighter than the healed result. As your skin heals, the colour softens and settles. Don't judge the final result during the first few days! 😂
Do I need a touch-up appointment?
A perfecting appointment is often recommended once healing is complete. For eyebrow tattooing, this is generally around 8–10 weeks after your initial appointment. Other treatments are assessed according to their healing and results.
Can I have cosmetic tattooing over existing tattoo work?
Possibly! Existing cosmetic tattoos need to be assessed first. The remaining pigment, colour, shape and saturation all affect whether new work is suitable. Please arrange a consultation before booking.
Can anyone have cosmetic tattooing?
Not everyone is a suitable candidate. Certain medical conditions, medications, skin concerns, pregnancy or breastfeeding may affect suitability. A consultation and health questionnaire help determine whether treatment is appropriate. Medical clearance may be needed in some circumstances.
What is lip blushing?
Lip blushing is a cosmetic tattoo treatment that enhances the natural colour and definition of your lips. It can help create a softer, more even-looking lip colour without the appearance of heavy lipstick.
How long does cosmetic tattoo healing take?
Initial surface healing commonly takes around 1–2 weeks, but the colour and skin can continue settling for several weeks. Healing varies by treatment and individual. You'll receive aftercare instructions, and you can find detailed healing information on my Cosmetic Tattoo page.

How do I look after my new lash extensions?
Clean your lashes regularly with a lash-extension-safe cleanser, avoid picking or pulling, and brush them gently when dry. Keeping them clean helps maintain healthy natural lashes and good retention.
What should I avoid after a Korean lash lift?
Follow the aftercare instructions provided for the products used during your appointment. You may need to avoid excessive moisture, steam, rubbing and eye makeup for an initial period. I'll explain exactly what applies to your treatment.
How do I care for my brows after lamination?
Be gentle with your brows, follow the recommended initial aftercare period, and use a suitable conditioning product if advised. Avoid over-exfoliating the area and brush your brows into place gently.
Can I wear makeup after cosmetic tattooing?
Avoid applying makeup directly over freshly tattooed skin until it has healed and you've been advised it's safe. For lip blushing, avoid lipstick and lip makeup for 14 days. Keep makeup brushes and other products away from healing skin to reduce irritation and contamination.
Is peeling normal after cosmetic tattooing?
Yes! Flaking and peeling can be a normal part of the healing process. Don't pick, scratch or pull away flakes, as this can affect pigment retention and healing.
Why does my cosmetic tattoo look patchy or too light while healing?
It's common for pigment to appear uneven or much lighter during healing. The skin is still recovering and the colour may continue developing over several weeks. The healed result is assessed before deciding whether perfecting work is needed.
When can I exercise after cosmetic tattooing?
Avoid strenuous exercise and excessive sweating during the initial healing period, according to your treatment-specific aftercare instructions. Sweat, friction and heat can irritate freshly tattooed skin.
When should I contact you about healing?
If you're unsure whether something is healing normally, please get in touch. If you experience spreading redness, increasing pain, heat, pus, fever or other signs of infection, seek prompt medical advice rather than waiting for a reply.
